Officer James Mobley was shot and killed in the line of duty on January 25, 1970.
Jim and I graduated from the police academy together. Jim was shot in the back only two (2) weeks after our graduation. Jim's father, Lee, was also a Dayton Police Officer who was totally disabled due to an on-duty motorcycle accident. Lee pinned the badge on Jim at graduation, tears were shed that day and even more only two weeks later.
James Mobley's name is enshrined on the Police Officers Memorial Wall at Panel 43-W, Line 9. EOW 01/25/1970.
